This seminar prepares students to navigate the FDNY’s computer-based S-60 Watchperson for Construction Site C of F exam.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Lighting requirement for exits, stairways, hallways and so forth
  • Daily premise inspections for potential ignition sources
  • Enforcement of smoking prohibitions
  • Premise inspections, in particular, for the accumulation of rubbish

CEU Requirements

  1. 100% attendance for the course
  2. Active participation in all class exercises (determined by course instructor)
  3. Completion of required post-quiz assessment
  4. As applicable, achievement of minimum passing score on required end-of-course examination
  5. Participation and submittal of end-of-course evaluation form (must provide name on form to receive credit)

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites to participate in this class.

Training Requirements

The Fire Code requires a watch person at any construction site having a footprint of between 5,000 square feet and 40,000 square feet. The watchperson must be on duty at the site during all hours when operations are not in progress.

Candidates will receive instruction on topics included on the FDNY exam as well as the proper protocol and procedures to stand watchperson duty on construction sites.

Audience

Licensed security guards preparing to take the S-60 Watchperson at Construction Sites Certificate of Fitness exam.

Students are required to complete 100% of the course and actively participate in all learning activities.

Make-up time is not permitted for this training course.
