The 2014 Fire Code update retires the Fire Safety Director (F-58) and Emergency Action Plan Director (F-59) Certificates of Fitness (C of F) and introduces a single C of F, the Fire and Life Safety Director (FLSD) C of F in their place. The FLSD or T-89/F-89 C of F applies to both office buildings and hotels and is inclusive of non-fire emergency subject matter such as active shooters and medical emergencies situations.
