What is a Worker Wallet Card?

Beginning November 1, 2024, Department-approved Course Providers will issue Worker Wallet Cards through the NYC DOB Training Connect platform upon completion of specific training certifications. Existing worker qualification cards issued prior to November 1, 2024, must be replaced by July 1, 2025. The Worker Wallet Card is not replacing SST cards until further notice. However, both cards will be linked to the individual’s profile in Training Connect.

I already have some of these certifications. How do I transition to the Worker Wallet Card before July 2025?

Do I need a Worker Wallet Card after every course?

No, the card is a one-time purchase.  Any past or future NYC DOB scaffold or rigging training (s) will be added to your Training Connect Profile and appear when the Worker Wallet Card is scanned*.

*For prior training to be added, it must be current (not expired) and validated by the issuing provider. A clear copy of the credential must be submitted at the time of the request.

When does a Worker Wallet Card expire?

Worker Wallet Cards don’t ever expire. However, they have a “valid through” date which states the lifespan of the card and the courses themselves do expire.  You can use the Training Connect app on your phone to check your current certifications.
