FAQ’s
Can I complete my SST training with a different provider?
Yes. NYC DOB allows workers to complete SST training through any NYCDOB Registered Course Provider, even if you took some of your classes elsewhere.
Will my SST card be accepted?
Only SST cards issued through DOB Training Connect by approved course providers will be accepted for new or renewed cards.
Gallagher Bassett Technical Services, LLC is an approved course provider with the NYCDOB. Course Provider # CP046 compliant documentation accepted on NYC jobsites.
What training still counts?
Depending on when and where you completed your courses:

You can check what training you have already completed in Training Connect. Download the Training Connect App in Apple or Google stores to verify your active card(s) and certificates(s).
Methods to Scan an SST Card
NFC Tap-to-Scan (Fastest):
- Ensure your smartphone (iPhone or Android) has NFC enabled.
- Open the Training Connect app (or the app designated by your provider, such as myComply).
- Tap the back of your phone directly onto the physical SST card.
- A link will pop up directing to the Training Connect website, displaying the worker’s training profile and card validity.
- Tap the grey bar that will allow you to see certifications.
QR Code Scan:
- Open the Training Connect app on your phone.
- Allow camera access and scan the QR code located on the physical card.
- The app will display the card status and specific certifications.

When scanning, you are checking for the following to ensure full compliance:
- Validity: The app must show the card as valid and active.
- Expiration Date: Verify the expiration date on the card or within the app. Cards must be renewed within 12 months of expiration.
- Certifications: Ensure the necessary safety training (e.g., 40-hour for workers, 62-hour for supervisors) is listed.
- Worker Wallet (Mandatory July 1, 2025): If you go on a scaffold for work- Ensure the card is part of the updated Worker Wallet, which consolidates all scaffold and rigging training, such as the 4HR Supported Scaffold User.
