Training Connect SST Cards and GBTS

SST-Card-Update-April-2022

On April 8, 2022, the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) updated its guidance and requirements for Site Safety Training (SST) Cards. The latest update outlines the roll out of the new Training Connect SST Cards and the DOB’s timeline for full compliance and enforcement.

Training Connect SST Cards

For Workers who completed their training AFTER January 1, 2022, DOB-approved course providers should be issuing cards through the DOB Training Connect Platform. TSCTA has been in compliance of the new change and only issue Training Connect SST Cards for new applicants in 2022.

For Workers who completed their training BEFORE January 1, 2022, it is possible that you were issued a card by a provider that does not look like the one pictured above. For you, this means you must have your card reprinted prior to January 31, 2023. TSCTA has been proactively working with our students and clients to reprint cards using the DOB Training Connect Platform and expect to have the appropriate card in the hands of all existing cardholders before the January 2023 deadline.

Enforcement

Beginning on February 1, 2023, Construction Sites requiring a DOB-Licensed Safety Professional will ONLY be allowed to accept DOB Training Connect SST Cards as proof of completing the required safety training. If you or your team still needs training – don’t delay. TSCTA offers SST training at our LIC location, virtually with a live instructor, and fully self-guided online – 24/7.
