A Learning Unit (LU) is used by the American Institute of Architects’ Continuing Education Systems (AIA/CES) and is based on a 60-minute hour. Time beyond 60 minutes is recorded in quarter-hour increments (e.g., 1 hour 45 minutes = 1.75 LUs).
