2-Hour Mental Health Awareness (SST-308) is designed to increase awareness of mental health challenges that can affect workers both on and off the job. This course covers common conditions such as stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders, while highlighting their impact on personal well-being, workplace safety, and job performance. Participants will learn to recognize warning signs, promote a supportive work environment, reduce stigma, and identify resources available for those in need of assistance. The course emphasizes the importance of mental health awareness in creating safer, healthier, and more productive workplaces.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to…

  • Describe the adverse effects of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
  • Recognize problems associated with substance dependency.
  • Avoid working while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol and be less susceptible and better at recognizing, avoiding, and preventing adverse consequences of drug and/or alcohol use and abuse.
  • Recognize and understand issues of chemical dependence that may adversely affect the lives of others who they know and love.

CEU Requirements

  1. 100% attendance for the course
  2. Active participation in all class exercises (determined by course instructor)
  3. Completion of required post-quiz assessment
  4. As applicable, achievement of minimum passing score on required end-of-course examination
  5. Participation and submittal of end-of-course evaluation form (must provide name on form to receive credit)

Technical Requirements

Users must grant access to their desktop/laptop’s camera and microphone in order to successfully complete this training. It is required that students complete the training on a desktop or laptop computer with Google Chrome as the browser.

The use of a mobile device, like a smartphone, tablet, or Chromebook is not permitted and will result in an automatic failure of the course.
