Course Description
During this instructor-led, virtual course, students will learn the proper procedures for crane assembly/disassembly, crane inspection, crane operator communication, how to prevent accidents with cranes and hoists and proper fall protection techniques. Topics covered include industry standards and best practices, rigging requirements, lifting and lowering loads, use of slings, signaling, pre-lift planning, industry standards, and best practices, and a thorough review of the NYC Construction Codes, OSHA 1926 as it relates to cranes, derricks, and rigging.
The course fee does not include the cost of issuing the identification card or site safety training card as applicable.

Upon completion of this course, students will learn:

Prerequisites
Students need to be able to verbally communicate with an instructor in the primary language of the training and will need to have access to an internet connection, a computer, or a tablet with access to a web camera, microphone, and download the WebEx app.
Training Requirements for 30 Hour Climber/Tower Crane Rigger Training
As per the 2014 Construction Code, Building Code Chapter 33 Safeguards during Construction or Demolition, to work on Climber or Tower Cranes in NYC, all workers must successfully complete 30 hours of training within three (3) years prior to application.

Audience
This course is designed for any workers, riggers, foremen or crane operators who assist/supervise in the work of jumping or erecting of a tower crane.
Students are required to complete 100% of the course and actively participate in all learning activities.
Make-up time is not permitted for this training course. Should students miss any portion of the training, it is the student’s responsibility to contact Gallagher Bassett to arrange to attend another scheduled event.
